"Good Run," a 3-minute and 47-second online video from Discover Boating is among the most effective videos to capture the essential boating experience. The compelling short feature, which is set to music and has no dialogue, is the latest piece in the organization's campaign to promote boating, and could also be its most powerful to date.

The video begins with an elderly man in a darkened room watching a "home movie" that captures his life on the water. It begins with him as a boy fishing in a small boat with his father and traces his life on the water— through a tour in the Navy, on his wedding day when he and his bride take their "just married" ride on a classic wooden boat, and taking his own son waterskiing behind a fiberglass runabout.

As the man matures, his boating choices mature with him, from a runabout to a cruiser and a pontoon boat. In the final scenes, he pilots his cruiser and walks the docks with his wife and—completing the cycle of his boating life— fishes with his grandson.

The movie ends and the man exits the room. The screen fades to black. Then the tag line, "Life's Better with a Boat" appears. It's a powerful message.
